Cruise told to divorce Kidman?

A new biography of Tom Cruise by Andrew Morton claims the A-list star was advised by Scientology leaders to end his marriage to Nicole Kidman. The book alleges that the request was made after Kidman gave an interview in 1998 describing herself as “a Catholic girl.” Morton says not long after, Cruise took a Scientology course that would identify “those in his life who create problems and difficulties,” and Kidman was identified as one of those. The author writes: “Shortly after Kidman’s Newsweek interview, senior Scientology leaders discussed their strategy to keep Tom in the fold. The fear was that a lukewarm Nicole could fatally compromise Tom’s commitment to his faith.” However, Cruise’s attorney dismisses the biography as “a bunch of lies.”
They divorced just short of their 10 year anniversary otherwise Kidman would have been entitled to have of Cruise’s worth. It was an arranged marriage, like all of Cruise’s relationships.
Tom Cruise is a freak, Nicole was lucky to get out when she did. Katie is just a puppet on a string, they keep saying how strong and independant she is, yeah, right! She does whatever Tom and his little Scientology freaks tell her to do, and they make it look like it is all her own choice. If he was advised to divorce Nicole, all the better for HER.

Tom is a nut job alright. Her career has taken off, his has been sinking like he’s wearing cement shoes! Some course that was. Devotion is one thing but anyone who gives you advice like that is NOT doing you any favours.

The “just short of the ten years” certainly lends credence to the Scientology interference. They were probably worried about losing the percentage of Tom’s assets that otherwise would have gone to Nicole.
Nicole should be thanking her lucky stars!
And I’m sure her little nose candy thing had nothing to do with the end of the marriage!

L. Ron Hubbard himself admitted that scientology was a figment of his imagination, pure and simple. He made the whole thing up. There is not one bit of truth to any of it.

I’ve never heard that one about drugs in any of the tabloids and THAT certainly would have made front page (all I ever read in the check-out stands). The paparazzi would have been all over that angle of their divorce story and I doubt she’d have been given any custody time with her kids. Perhaps you’re referring to the stuff YOU (Danny-boy) put up your nose??
I agree…Tom is a nutbar, Katie is a puppet and wise Nicole got out when the going was good. I wish her only the best with her pregnancy. But, I do wonder (worry) about their two kids. Does Scientology interfer with them?
I totally agree…Tom has just gotten weirder and weirder! And he sought after Kate because he knew how infatuated she was with him, he needed someone he and his “religion” could control. I wish Kate would wise up, but she knows she’ll lose Suri right?? As for Nic she’s AWESOME, smart and has the perfect husband now. Way to go Nic but I do feel for the kids she shares with Crazy Cruise as they have been forgotten since Suri came into the picture…Lord knows their mom and step-dad love them to bits!! And yes that 10 year thing and Scientology is true just look at Kristy Alley and Parker Stevenson same thing..same religion��go figure!!

Who do oyu think got her hubby hooked? You don’t remember her personal appearances a few years back and her movies? Why was it she took a year off…because no one would hire her. Oh how quickly we all forget!

Gina, Cruise IS married to Holmes, and he IS divorced from Kidman! Danny Miller, I’ve never heard anything about Nicole using anything like that, I don’t think she would, I think she’s too smart. Katie will never “smarten up”, she knows she will lose Suri. I think this whole stupid Scientology is going to totally mess up the minds of those three kids, especially Suri since both of her parents are immersing her in it. I refuse to even see any of Tom’s movies anymore, he is just too much of a freak for me. I’m not even interested in Katie’s movies since she is stupid enough to be with him. God help those kids.

Nicole is ultra skinny… perhaps cocaine is her weight loss/control program? I don’t think her career has taken off. She gets paid a lot for the movies she’s in, but they seem to suck pretty bad. (Stepford Wives).
I’m not on Tom’s side. I think he has let his religious beliefs warp his mind to the point where I think making public appearances is a no-no… to much bad exposure. The only things i would stand hearing from him is his lines in a movie.
Katie is a no talent bum! Her only hope to cling to fame is through marriage.

Me, I think Gina knew they were divorced and made the remark in sarcasm.When I first read the title that was the impression I also got. As for Tom Cruise and Katie. I feel sorry for Katie getting involved with scientology and her parents must be quite upset. There are some interesting videos on scientology, talk about mind control or is it MONEY control, pretty scary. Poor Katie!
Funny! After reviewing all of your commentary, I am compelled to write something. Actually, you know what? I don’t think that Katie is stupid at all. Quite frankly, I think she is very calculating and smart. Why you ask? Because you must all be well aware that Tom would never marry her without some type of pre-nup and I’m sure that pre-nup (like the one that Michael Douglas did when he married Catherine Zeta-Jones), is that for every year she is married to him, she gets paid money and if children come, more money. So either way, even if Katie divorces Tom eventually, and believe me folks, no matter how many interviews she gives about how much she loves him and he completes her, don’t buy any of it. Once she is tired of the lie that she has to live so that she can shop till she drops, wear designer clothes, hang out with the A+ celebrities, get the A list movie roles.
If you have ever watched her on Dawson Creek or any of her movies, she does not possess Oscar-calibre performances. At least with Nicole, she was already famous in Australia and won the Oscar equivalent in Australia before her breakout role in Dead Calm. We are still waiting for the breakout role for Katie.
Since War of the Worlds, I have not seen and will not ever pay money to see a Tom Cruise movie. He is gay and when he decides to be honest and come out of the closet and stop hiding behind the facade of scientology and what a wonderful person he is and how much charity he does and how many autographs he signs. Uh huh. Still a freak. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck…well, you get the idea. Once all of that vitreol started coming out of his mouth about drugs, judging Brooke Shields, jumping on Oprah’s talk show coach and proposing on the Eifle Tower, then getting married in a castle. Ha! It’s all smoke and mirrors. If you have a friend who is a homosexual, they will tell you. He is gay but in deep denial. What I find truly offensive is all of the celebrities who know and support his story of the happy family man.
No thanks. Throughout the years, I’m so thankful that my mother taught me the value of character, integrity and hard work. Not that I’m saying that celebrities don’t work hard. But with all of their fast life, big houses, fast money and attention. They look like a very unhappy bunch. Most are on their 3rd and 4th marriage. All so very sad to me. It’s always the children that I feel most sorry for.
I’m still convinced that Suri is in fact Katie’s daughter but whether or not the sperm was supplied by Tom is altogether another story.
If I turn on the TV and Tom Cruise is on, I turn the channel. There is nothing he has to say that I want to hear. See how Lions for Lambs crashed at the box office. He really is only popular and loved in Europe and Asia. Please God, let him move there soon.
So don’t feel sorry for Katie, she knows exactly what she’s doing. Peace!
