Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell , and Jude Law, who took over Heath Ledger‘s role in his final film, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, are giving their paychecks to Ledger’s two-year-old daughter, Matilda. Each actor plays a different version of Heath’s character in the fantasy film. Before his death earlier this year, Ledger had not changed will to include his young daughter after she was born, so the three actors wanted to make sure Matilda will be set for life. Matilda’s mother is actress Michelle Williams. Director Terry Gilliam says of his leading men,”The three actors were totally heroic coming in. This doesn’t happen very often . . . where there’s a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, ‘Okay, we’ll do whatever it takes to help.’ They came; they did the work; they allowed the movie to be finished; they didn’t take money–the money goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary!” Matilda’s share of her father’s estate–which is estimated to be worth up to $20 million–will be decided in an Australian court.
