George Clooney’s reluctant ‘bride’

A woman who had to ”marry” George Clooney was ”angry” about it and desperate for their day to be over.
The 53-year-old actor – who tied the knot with second wife Amal Clooney last September – was involved in a mock ceremony with Lisa Collins when he was just 19 years old as part of a campaign to promote wedding outfits in Kentucky department store McAlpin’s, where he sold shoes and though he is regarded as one of Hollywood’s hottest hunks, his ‘bride’ for the day was very reluctant.
Lisa – whose mother worked at the store – said: ”I was desperate for the day to be over with. I was angry [about] doing it because my mom volunteered me for it and he wasn’t famous then.”
Lisa and George walked down the aisle in front of dozens of would-be brides and classical music played as the hour-long “ceremony” took place.
Lisa recalled to the Daily Mail: ”He escorted me around a fountain area in front of potential brides.”
While Lisa was reluctant to take part in the stunt, she admits she would have been nicer to her groom – who was previously married to actress Talia Balsam for four years – had she known where his life would take him in the future.
She admitted: ”George is a very attractive and charming man, but he’s off the market now. We joke that if we knew he would become this famous I would have paid more attention to him.”
