Gere not worried about charges

During an appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this week, Richard Gere said the kiss he’d given Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness rally has been blown out of proportion. A warrant has been issued for Gere’s arrest in India after a local citizen filed a complaint. “There is a very small right-wing, very conservative political party in India and they are the moral police in India and they do this kind of thing quite often,” Gere told Stewart. “I don’t know that anyone has actually gone to jail, it has to go through a process. It goes to a reputable court and they throw it out,” he said.
