Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer leaked online

There’s a lot of buzz today on the Internet about a leaked amateur red band The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer that was posted on YouTube on Saturday. The clip, which appears to have been recorded with a handheld camera, has pushed the film to the top of Google’s list of popular searches. However, some are saying the leak could be a marketing gimmick from the film studio. The movie stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara and though the trailer begins with an extremely shaky camera shot while the “Preview has been approved for mature audiences only” warning appears, the rest of the trailer is surprisingly good quality, until it gets to the end, where the credits  shake. As of this morning, the clip had over 838,000 views. It was posted by someone called dobvlvstiuwir, who claims to be from the Netherlands, but this is the only video he has ever posted to his YouTube Channel. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens December 21, 2011.

The feel bad movie of the year? Why on earth would they market the film that way? That doesn’t exactly make me want to see the film, especially when it’s already competing with the original Swedish films which were released a mere few years ago.

It has the exact same look and feel as the original films. This did NOT need to be remade and American-ized. Let’s see some original movies! Enough with the sequels and remakes. Get Chris Nolan or JJ Abrams pumping out some more good original stuff and take their lead.

Umm why does Rooney Mara have no eye brows?

will be interested to see this movie, I’d be surprised if it surpasses the Swedish version, they were all fabulous…

@Jo-Anne, it looks exactly the same. I think they even used the same locations as the Swedish film.

thanks chronium, I do not think they will be able to top the acting in the Swedish ones, they were a perfect fit, but I stand to be corrected after I see this new version!
