High School Musical 2 CD Review

As with the original High School Musical CD, High School Musical 2 offers plenty of catchy tunes. “All for One” sets toes tapping with lyrics such as “We’re gonna have fun in the sun now that all the hard work is done. Everybody one for all and all for one.” Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) scores another solid performance with “Gotta Go My Own Way,” with Troy (Zac Efron) adding his voice. Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) delivers a fun Las Vegas-style version of “You Are the Music in Me,” while Gabriella and Troy sing it as a love ballad. A welcome change is that Chad (Corbin Bleu) gets a chance to show off this time in “I Don’t Dance.”  And it’s worth noting that Zac Efron sings all of his own songs, unlike on the previous CD, where he only sang a few lines. On that disc, he was replaced by a tenor for the higher notes, but his own voice has a raw, emotional quality that fits much better with the character he plays. The Canadian release of the High School Musical 2 CD also has two great tracks that the American release doesn’t include: Canadian singing sensation Nikki Yanofsky doing a fantastic job singing “Gotta Go My Own Way” both in English and in French.

   I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!!!! The songs are just as good as (if not BETTER THAN) the first! I’m glad that this movie was good too, cuz sometimes sequels are suckish! Great job

    Very fun and entertaining music, you are absolutely right that it is to play with time since it is very addictive.
