While in Boston to raise money for Christopher’s Haven – a centre for children battling cancer – Chris Evans, 33, demonstrated why he’s one of the most popular superheroes by visiting a young fan. The Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor stopped by to hang out with superfan Kenny Botting, nine, who’s currently staying at the center while undergoing treatment for a brain tumor at Massachusetts General Hospital next door.
Chris came bearing gifts for Kenny and even took the time to autograph memorabilia and pose for pictures with other residents. While visiting, Kenny gave Chris a tour of the facility and even pulled one over on the superhero by tying him up with a rope.
While discussing the experience with a local affiliate of CBS, Chris said, “It’s their strength that gives me strength. No matter what hurdles are in my life, it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile it’s worth it.” ~Janine Wyslobicky
