Jennifer Lawrence admits she knew she’d be famous

Jennifer Lawrence, 22, has confessed to Vogue magazine that she used to “lie in bed and wonder” about what would make her famous. “It wasn’t a vision. But as it’s kind of happening, you have this buried understanding: Of course,” said Jennifer , who returns to the big screen this fall with American Hustle and Catching Fire. The Oscar winner also revealed that she identifies with her Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen because of how her own life changed after the success of the 2010 indie Winter’s Bone, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. “I had only done indies, and suddenly I was introduced to this brand-new world where I didn’t feel like myself,” she told Vogue. “I was in these weird gowns and listening to people talk about things I didn’t understand. And I remember reading that in the book [The Hunger Games] and being like, ‘Oh, my God, I know exactly what this feels like.'”
Although she’s become one of the most famous actresses in the world, Jennifer still hasn’t adapted to being stalked by the paparazzi. “If I were just your average 23-year-old girl and I called the police to say that there were strange men sleeping on my lawn and following me to Starbucks, they would leap into action,” she said. “But because I am a famous person, well, sorry, ma’am, there’s nothing we can do. It makes no sense… I am just not okay with it. It’s as simple as that. I am just a normal girl and a human being, and I haven’t been in this long enough to feel like this is my new normal. I’m not going to find peace with it.” The September issue of Vogue featuring Lawrence hits newsstands August 20. ~Alfonso Espina
