Keira Knightly wins libel case

Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley has won a $5,965 settlement in a lawsuit against the British paper The Daily Mail. She’d sued the paper for libel after they ran a story suggesting that she’d lied about not being anorexic and that she was somehow responsible for the death of a teenage girl due to anorexia. Her lawyer, Simon Smith, said that his client’s weight has remained at an acceptable level through her adult life and has never fluctuated more than a few pounds. Knightley is matching the settlement money and donating the entire amount to the eating disorder and mental illness charity, BEAT.
The media has so much freedom that they over step their boundaries,, in some ways good, in others hurtful and untrue,, I commend Keira for righting a wrong and making something good out of it,, what has her weight have to do with what a wonderful actor she is, give me a break, thanks kiera for standing up for yourself and not taking blame for something that was not your fault,, someones always looking for a scapegoat,, good for you and your lawyers for the fight and it absolutely wonderful that you matched the money amount and donated it to a great cause… Marion
the legal costs were probably double what she donated; if she wanted to do a “Good think” shw woudl have just donated the money without any backup story.

Its true alot of buzz about A list actors does come out during a major movie release it peaks interest. I myself thought she has benn looking a little thin as of late probably due to very busy schedules, but regardless her choices are her choices and no one elses Keira cant be responible for anyone elses choices. This is a free world and free will. So her sueing, matching and donating the settlement is a fine jesture on her part. I just hope that the stresses to maintain the standards Hollywood demands does not hurt her health in the future.
