Heath Ledger was “upset” says friend

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 24, 2008 | 32 Comments

Heath LedgerAustralian model Sophie Ward, whose sister Gemma Ward reportedly began dating Heath Ledger last year, describes the actor as having been anxious while spending the Christmas holidays at home with family in Perth, Australia. “We went to the movies and just did normal stuff,” Ward told The West Australian newspaper. “But he was a bit edgy. He couldn’t really relax.” Ward, who lives in Perth, added, “He said he was going to London but was quite upset because he couldn’t see his daughter as much as he’d like to. He was traveling so much, and I think he was just frustrated with it all.” As for drug use, she says, “He was clean and wasn’t drinking any alcohol or taking drugs. He smoked cigarettes, but that’s about it. He was drinking Diet Coke when we were together and he said he was very committed to not drinking alcohol.”

It is sad that his life was ended so young. my sympathy to his family. he was a great actor and will never be forgotten.

  2. Anonymous • January 24, 2008 @ 2:57 PM

It was NOT suicide, he loved his little girl too much to leave her like that.

  3. Anonymous • January 24, 2008 @ 8:59 PM

And you’re a close personal friend of his; either that or telepathic?

  4. Anonymous • January 24, 2008 @ 9:39 PM

Nobody knows what it was because nobody was there with him. No one knows what was going on inside his head. But, sadly, statistics show that sleeping pill overdoses are generally not accidental.

So what are you a doctor. You can easily overdose on sleeping pills. If one doesn`t work you take more. My prayers are with his family . God Bless and help you through this hard time.

He will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him…

  7. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 9:33 AM

Of course you can easily overdose on sleeping pills…..if you deliberately take too many! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out!

I have been a fan of his since very early on in his career. I first saw him in the television show Roar. I fell in love with him instantly. He was a great actor and will be forever remembered in a great way. My prayers are with his loved ones. R.I.P Heath Ledger.

sad how people use an in telligent forum like this to be petty with others who comment. He was a young man, he has passed away, it is very sad, he leaves people behind who will miss him forever. Grow up people, and use these forums appropiately!

  10. k • January 25, 2008 @ 10:28 AM

why didn’t she call 911 right away instead of waiting so long to call. How stupid can she be . Another good actor gone too soon! Waiting to long to call probaly caust him his life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 11:25 AM

These forums are not fan pages for people to gush all over movie stars, dead or alive. People can say anything they want! It has nothing at all to do with growing up! Don’t like it? Then don’t come back! If you want a goodie-goodie rose-colored glasses type of reporting, go read People magazine or something along those lines!

  12. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 12:23 PM

People die every day. Accidental and suicide. Will anyone report on YOU when you die?

  13. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 1:22 PM

    Idiot!

  14. Lianne • January 25, 2008 @ 1:39 PM

I haven’t heard anyone gushing about Mr. Ledger, only stating facts. He was a good actor, he did have a daughter named Matilda and he will be missed by her along with the rest of his family, friends and fans. Whether his death was suicide or by accident is irrelevant. How soon 911 was called and all the rest of the speculation is also irrelevant. His death is tragic, the same as when any death occurs. I don’t normally comment in this type of forum but comments made by certain individuals who don’t even have the courage to sign their names to the garbage they are spewing has spurred me into speaking. I agree these aren’t fan pages but this forum isn’t here for individuals to use to personally attact others either. If you can’t act like a respectful, mature individual then maybe you should think about not coming back yourself!

    Rest in Peace Mr. Ledger

  15. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 2:28 PM

Lianne, go screw yourself, you sanctimonious bitch! And his daughter is only 2. She’s too young to remember him. And who the hell made you the opinion police around here? You twat! You’ve got some nerve telling people what they can and cannot post!

  16. Gewher • January 25, 2008 @ 2:49 PM

It being suicide doesn’t make it any less sad. I hate it when people think that if someone killed themselves then ‘they had it coming’ or ‘it’s their fault’. In fact, I think it’s even more sad if it’s deliberate. Because then the family has more trouble coping wondering if they could have done something different.

  17. anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 3:18 PM

Pretty sure its not about what you post but rather having personal pride in the level of common sense involved with posting it. If you don’t appreciate people being offended by what you place here perhaps yahooligans is more your venue. Death is not something to be bashed about by some foul mouthed child. Disgusting!

Please find an ounce of class, self-control and respect for the feelings of others. If it were someone you care about how would it affect your how would you feel in their shoes?
Actor or not, Famous or an average joe they are people who think and feel just like anyone else… besides do you have no morals, dignity or even bounderies, I mean come on have a heart, you insensitive jerk!!!

  19. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 6:06 PM

I still don’t believe it was suicide, and if he was depressed recently, well no wonder! He was working and travelling so much, and not getting much chance to see his little girl, or to just relax! He had been having trouble sleeping, I truly believe in my heart that he took too many sleeping pills thinking that it would be ok, that it would help him sleep and he’d wake up refreshed. I’ve taken more than one myself before because the first one wouldn’t work. Guess I got lucky, and he, unfortunately, didn’t.

  20. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 6:08 PM

And this forum is for anyone who wants to post an opinion. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. And as far as putting names in, there had been some problems with a couple of people using each others names, so I don’t blame anyone for using anonymous. What’s it matter anyway, it’s only a name? So just chill out and let people say what they want to say.

  21. Anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 8:38 PM

To the above poster : Finally someone is saying it like it is! Very well said indeed!

  22. anonymous • January 25, 2008 @ 9:16 PM

I don’t we’ll ever know why he died

  23. Sue • January 26, 2008 @ 4:47 AM

I read these posts once in a while…some are sickening, and others are appropriate. I’ve seen Heath Ledger in a few movies, and he had a great career ahead of him…it’s very sad that he’s gone (on purpose, or by accident!)
R.I.P Heath…Best wishes & condolences to your little girl and your family.

  24. SpotMatrix • January 27, 2008 @ 12:28 PM

The only problem with using anonymous is that no one will easily recognize you to post a comment about your comment. You don’t have to use a name but use one that will stand out from the rest. It will be easier to follow the post if I knew which anonymous was which. It’s almost comical to watch people bash each other over petty differences. The scary thing is that people have killed each other over such things (eg hockey parent bludgeons referee over bad call). I’d like to say that was not the case in the old days but I’m sure it’s always been the case since the beginning of the human race.

As for Mr. Ledger… last nigh I just enjoyed his film “The Four Feathers”. Looking forward to his new film. Sad to know he will have no more. I’ve known a few people who cammited suicide without ever showing signs prior to the incident. No letter. Nothing. Those close always say “they were so happy”. As a number of people have indicated we don’t know. We can’t ask him so we’ll never know. The fact is he enters the world of actors who have died young in the prime of their career like Branden Lee, James Dean and River Phoenix.

ps. didn’t Branden Lee die while filming a movie also wearing makeup like Heath Ledger? Could be a curse. Sorry bad joke at the expense of the dead. My condolences go out to anyone who has lost someone they love.. famous or not.

I love the way you all speak your mind-remember this forum is all about speaking your mind not knowing the person(s)name.

I’ve read all you comments and understand from both points of view…Heath was loved, respected,a devoted father he will not only be missed by the people closest to him but to his fans oceans away.

Although I must say so myself the police should have been the first people to have been called in a situation such as this – when you see your neighbours house being broken into and know that their away on vactions the first thing you do is call the police, not walk over and say hello but are you the interior designer…hahahahah!!!!!!!
LUV U HEATH YOUR STILL HOT XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

  26. Nancy • January 28, 2008 @ 9:34 AM

No, I think he’s cold by now!!!

I have to agree that ALL these different anonymous’s are quite confusing when you all get going at once!

I also agree that an AMBULANCE should have been called first thing…..not Ms. Trollsen!! And Heath supposedly had been battling the flu!

  27. Anonymous • January 29, 2008 @ 5:42 PM

anonymous does get confusing, but if you read the posts, and check out the dates/times, you can often figure out which ones were done by the same person. Using a name or some type of identity is fine until someone copies it and and says things (in your “name”)that you would never say.

  28. SpotMatrix • January 29, 2008 @ 9:14 PM

If you pretend to be someone else what would you hope to accomplish. Not like anyone’s writing a book about our theories and quips on here. Oh well they are only posts anyhow. It’s basically entertainment because everyone here has been quoting differents “Facts”. Now… who’s behind door #1, Darryl Darly or my other corpse Darril? Probably the only one that knows even the remote truth is the masseusse and I bet she’ll keep that secret till she meets Heath again.

  29. SpotMatrix • January 29, 2008 @ 9:16 PM

Damn I liked his acting. Since I saw the Patriot I knew this guy was destined for bigger and better things. What a shame.

  30. Marion from Hants England • July 16, 2008 @ 2:13 PM

Lots of these great actors are messed up people in fact that’s what gives them their talent. Look at all the artists in the past who were. I know what it feels like to be so far down, low self esteem in fact, have had to phone The Samaritans several times over the past twenty or so years. Loved him in Broke Back Mountain!!

  31. katie • October 14, 2008 @ 7:01 AM

One of our own, think it was just a tragic accident. The family will be the one’s to suffer not us.

  32. pamela doyle • October 14, 2008 @ 7:04 AM

He definitely, think it was just a tragic accident. The family will be the one’s to suffer not us.
