The Marvel Universe won’t be the same without Stan Lee, who died on Monday at the age of 95. He helped create many comic book superheroes such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Thor, Iron Man and Black Panther.
His daughter, J.C., told TMZ.com that an ambulance transported her father to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday morning, where he later died.
She added: “He felt an obligation to his fans to keep creating. He loved his life and he loved what he did for a living. His family loved him and his fans loved him. He was irreplaceable. My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.”
Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger said in a statement: “Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A superhero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart.”
Lee wrote and edited most of Marvel’s series and newspaper strips. He is also known for his signature phrase “Excelsior!” which was always printed at the end of his monthly comics column, “Stan’s Soapbox.”

We’ve lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and …. to have helped bring one of his characters to life. #StanLee #Wolverine pic.twitter.com/iOdefi7iYz

I was so saddened when I first saw this on the news this morning. The world has lost one of the greats. RIP Stan Lee and thank you for all you’ve done.
All of Stan Lee’s amazing super heroes should make an appearance at his funeral or some event to commemorate his fabulous creativity. We will miss him!! He was as important as his characters.
The title of the story which is the basis for “The Day The Earth Stood Still” movies is one that fits for the passing of Stan Lee :
FAREWELL TO THE MASTER
