Fresh off his run on Saturday Night Live, comedy legend Eddie Murphy decided to try his hand at film and he lit up the screens in a huge way with Walter Hill’s buddy cop action comedy 48 Hrs. Murphy's natural charisma translated to the big screen, starring as Reggie Hammond, a criminal temporarily paroled to Nick Nolte's detective Jack Cates. Murphy's screen presence was apparent as he quickly outshone his co-star in what would be the first of many hit films of his illustrious career.
