This four-part Neflix original series is based on the true story of the Exonerated Five. Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise were five Black teenagers from Harlem who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The series follows their story from the spring of 1989 all the way until 2014, including their wrongful convictions, exoneration and their final settlement. Directed by Ava DuVernay, this is a compelling depiction of the racism within the NYPD and the impact a wrongful conviction can have on someone's entire life.
