Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Ultimate Edition (2016)

To be clear right off the bat we're talking about the Ultimate Edition cut of the film that was released on home video and not the theatrical cut that audiences were first introduced to in 2016. That being said, the idea that an $800-million-plus grossing film can be considered a cult film is debatable, but given the film's ardent supporters in spite of the critical panning it received upon its release, I think it's earned. The Ultimate Edition does rectify many of the issues critics and audiences had with the theatrical release, offering a more cohesive look into director Zack Snyder's cinematic vision for its titular characters. This cut has helped turn around many opinions on the film and in the years to come many more may reflect differently upon this film, especially if Snyder's artistic vision for Justice League is well-received upon its release in 2021.
