The Nice Guys (2016)

Acclaimed screenwriter Shane Black is no stranger to writing blockbuster hits, with credits that include the Lethal Weapon franchise. However, he's also got his fair share of cult hits as well, including The Last Boy Scout and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It's no surprise then that his 2016 buddy cop film The Nice Guys went under the radar despite rave reviews and the star duo of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. Black's mix of witty dialogue, raucous comedy, and a twinge of creative action had The Nice Guys primed to be the next great buddy cop series, but sadly that wasn't the case and it has been relegated to cult status.
