Cate Blanchett – Hot Fuzz

Edgar Wright loves filling his films with surprise cameos, but no other film did it better than his action comedy Hot Fuzz. It was a tough choice between Cate Blanchett and Peter Jackson's cameos, but we're going with Blanchett's due to the fact that one would have to be entirely familiar with her voice to catch her appearance. In the film she dons scrubs from top to bottom while wearing a face mask and goggles to ensure the crime scene she's working at remains unperturbed. There she's met by her ex-boyfriend Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), who informs her he's been transferred. It's not that this is a particularly prominent scene, but the lengths to which Blanchett's appearance is concealed makes this quite a surprise for people who are able to pick up on her voice.
