Matt Damon and Sam Neill – Thor: Ragnarok

While Thor's first two outings were mixed bags and tones, that all changed under the direction of Taika Waititi in Thor: Ragnarok. This film would lean more heavily into comedy as opposed to fantasy melodrama, which opened the door for its cast to be more playful and take more chances with some cameo appearances. Two such cameos came early in the film with Asgardian actors recreating Loki's death scene from Thor: The Dark World. What's most surprising though, is who Marvel got to play the Asgardian actors. One was Jurassic Park star Sam Neill taking on the role of Odin, while Loki's actor was played by Matt Damon. Damon himself is no stranger to making surprise cameos, but this doubled both for the surprise factor and the hilarity.
