Brenton Thwaites

On the Aussie side of things we have young Brenton Thwaites, who never quite found his footing in Hollywood. His first major leading role came in the form of Jonas in the adaptation of the classic Lois Lowry novel The Giver, which was just a few months after appearing as Prince Phillip in Disney's reimagining of the sorceress Maleficent. Although neither film was a true test of his star potential, they laid the foundation for his next two attempts in 2016's Gods of Egypt and 2017's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Both projects carried their own baggage that would ultimately undermine any effort on Thwaites' part. The bad press of Gods of Egypt, and the franchise fatigue of Dead Men Tell No Tales sapped out any hope for movie star potential on Thwaites' part, but he's rebounded nicely, having landed the leading role on DC's Titans TV series, which was recently renewed for a third season.
