Dreamgirls – Jennifer Hudson outshines Beyonce and Jamie Foxx

Shortly after coming in seventh on American Idol in 2004, Jennifer Hudson was cast in a supporting role in a Hollywood film. Working alongside huge celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, and Eddie Murphy, Hudson was the newest name on the set of Dreamgirls (2006). "The showstopper, the main reason to see the movie — comes around the midpoint, when Jennifer Hudson, playing Effie White, sings 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going,'" wrote The New York Times. Hudson went on to win Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards in 2007.
