Gary Oldman – Winston Churchill

For his role as inspirational British politician Winston Churchill in the period drama Darkest Hour, Gary Oldman spent a year studying and perfecting Churchill’s mannerisms. He also donned a fat suit and prosthetics. In an interview with Variety, the actor revealed that he spent a total of over 200 hours in the makeup chair. But we’re pretty sure the Academy Award for Best Actor that Oldman won made the whole experience worthwhile.
