There’s method acting, and then there’s Jim Carrey’s take on Andy Kaufman. To play the eccentric comedian in Man on the Moon, Carrey refused to have anyone on or off set call him by his real name and stayed in character the entire time, even picking a fight with Kaufman’s real-life enemy, wrestler Jerry Lawler. The documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond has since come out on Netflix detailing the startling extremes Carrey went to in order to become Kaufman, and it's definitely worth a watch.
