Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were once the most famous set of twins in Hollywood, if not the world. They made their start in the shared role of Michelle Tanner on the sitcom Full House and went on to build an empire of VHS films, books, and even a couple of television series. But in 2004, after the girls completed their final movie together, New York Minute, Ashley quit acting entirely to focus on a career in fashion. Mary-Kate followed in her footsteps after a supporting role in the 2011 movie Beastly. In recent years, each girl has come forward to explain their departure, with Ashley claiming she fell out of love with acting and Mary-Kate tired of only playing wholesome characters. Whatever the reason, Hollywood lost its reigning pop culture princesses. Judging from their refusal to appear in the Full House reboot, Fuller House, we're pretty sure these girls have left the business for good.
