Shrek

Production on Shrek began in 1996, but took over four-and-a-half years to complete -- the movie was finally released in 2001. An instant hit with both kids and adults, it was worth the wait, winning the 2002 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Shrek 2 came out in 2004, Shrek the Third in 2007 and the most recent, Shrek Forever After, in 2010.
