Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut with his remake of A Star is Born was a smash hit in 2018 when it hit theaters. The film put audiences on notice that the actor has a lot to deliver behind the camera, nabbing not only a Best Actor nomination at the Golden Globes, but a Best Director nomination as well. Impressive as his accomplishments are, Cooper is just the latest in a long line of actors who have begun to take their talents from front of the camera to behind it. Over the last two decades, critics have responded favorably to many directorial debuts by actors, with their films netting positive and fresh Tomatometer scores (a result of at least 60 percent of the reviews for the film being positive) on the aggregate review site RottenTomatoes. Here is a list of the best directorial debuts by some of your favorite actors since the turn of the century. ~Paolo Maquiraya
