Best Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons, Whiplash (2015)

While the past decade has featured many a scene-stealing supporting actor from some truly talented actors, none can boast a performance as explosive, fiery, and captivating as that of J.K. Simmons in director Damien Chazelle’s masterful debut film, Whiplash. Even against two multiple winners in the decade (Christoph Waltz and Mahershala Ali), Simmons is easily the top choice for the decade’s Best Supporting Actor winners. “Not quite my tempo” easily became the most terrifying phrase of this past decade with the following scene not only being devastatingly iconic, but encapsulating everything of Simmons’ character, Fletcher.
