Joel Schumacher – June 22, 2020

Director Joel Schumacher was best known for his early films such as St. Elmo's Fire (1985) and The Lost Boys (1987); his Batman films Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997); and his 2004 adaptation of the Broadway musical Phantom of the Opera. He was 80 when he passed away in New York City on June 22, 2020 after battling cancer for a year.
