Carol (Where the Wild Things Are)

In Spike Jonze's Golden Globe-nominated, big-screen adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book Where the Wild Things Are, the Jim Henson Creature Shop gets credit for bringing the fuzzy beasts to life in magical fashion. Carol (voiced by James Gandolfini) is the lead Thing and represents Max’s fear and loathing. But Carol also signifies the importance of imagination and embodies Max's longing for a father figure. With sad eyes that tell stories themselves, Carol is the kind of creature you just want to wrap your arms around.
