Halloween (1978)

Although the canon of Halloween films is deep, the mother of them all is John Carpenter's original 1978 slasher starring Jamie Lee Curtis. In Halloween, Jamie plays babysitter Laurie, who is tasked with taking on sinister, deranged, white mask-donning serial killer Michael Myers. Sure, fall adopts a creepy, unsettling look in this film, but it's masterful all the same. From the dead leaves that line the streets to the fall fashion put on display by Laurie and her friends, autumn is omnipresent.

I love The Village, one of Shyamalan’s best!
