Bridget Jones’s Diary – Sharon Maguire

Welsh director Sharon Maguire made her feature directorial debut with Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001), based on the bestselling book of the same name by Helen Fielding (who also co-wrote the screenplay) and starring Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. Offering a taste of adventure and romance, the movie was so successful that it paved the way for two sequels.
