Jared Leto in Suicide Squad

Jared Leto had the unfortunate luck to be cast as the Joker in Suicide Squad, with everyone expecting a performance equal to that of Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Although Leto tried to get into character by playing tasteless pranks on his co-stars, his performance on screen was so forgettable and bland that most of his role was cut from the final movie. Thankfully, when it came time to film the origin story Joker (2019), the role went to Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Oscar for his multi-layered performance.
