Jude Law in The Holiday

Although Jude Law showed promise as a romantic lead in the drama Cold Mountain, he was never able to pull off the charisma needed in future films. Note his appearance in The Holiday opposite Cameron Diaz. Apparently director/screenwriter Nancy Meyers questioned whether Law would fit into the genre, and for his part, he felt it would be tricky playing a character who couldn't hide behind a costume or accent (as he had in Cold Mountain). As it turns out, they were right to worry. He lacked warmth and charisma, and has never played a romantic lead since.
