Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh – Lethal Weapon

There is a recipe for buddy cop films: ingredients might include heroes of different ethnicities and/or straightlaced vs. wild personalities. There may be a significant age difference, and one might be a family man and the other single. This is the formula for Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) in Lethal Weapon and the subsequent three sequels, all commercial successes. Forced to work together, and constantly at odds, they solve crimes using Murtaugh's now infamous catchphrase: "I'm too old for this shit.”
