Christian Bale – The Machinist

There’s skinny and then there’s skeletal. Christian Bale went to extremes for his role as Trevor Reznik in The Machinist (2004) by going on a diet of water, a cup of coffee and an apple – roughly a 275-calorie limit – every day for four months. He lost over 60 pounds, dropping to a shocking 120 pounds at 6 feet tall. That’s role dedication. Or just insane.
