Last Night in Soho – October 29

Few directors are as beloved by their fans as Edgar Wright. The English director has steadily built up his career with some of the most well-regarded comedy films of this century, with titles like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World under his belt. His last film, Baby Driver, was similarly well-regarded as an action musical, making his latest movie Last Night in Soho a bit of a curious project. Seemingly a psychological thriller bereft of humor from its first teaser trailer, the film nonetheless showcases Wright's penchant for visual creativity and style, which only adds to the intrigue. While most pandemic-related delays weren't ideal, that might not be the case for Last Night in Soho as audiences are now more familiar with the work of Anya Taylor-Joy thanks to the Netflix series The Queen's Gambit.
