Chris Daughtry placed fourth in season four and has had a successful career as an artist ever since. Chris formed the band Daughtry after being eliminated from American Idol and their self-titled album was a fast success, selling more than one million copies in five weeks and reaching number one on the Billboard charts in its ninth week. The band was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for Best Rock Song for their single “It’s Not Over.” In terms of record sales, Daughtry is the third most successful American Idol contestant, behind Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
