White House Down (2012)

The second of two films in 2012 that looked to ape the Die Hard formula, but set in the White House, Roland Emmerich’s White House Down was an unapologetic left-leaning film. Unafraid of how it portrayed the two main American political parties within its world, White House Down played up the comical nature of its agenda with satirical depictions of extremist right-wing villains, led by an excellent performance from veteran actor James Woods.
