Interstellar

Director Christopher Nolan is no stranger to Alberta, where he previously filmed his 2010 movie Inception. For Interstellar, locations throughout Calgary were chosen to double as the farm town at the beginning of the movie. While the province is part of the prairies, production actually had to grow a cornfield for the shoot and build the farm home for Matthew McConaughey’s character from scratch.
