Charlize Theron – Snow White and the Huntsman/The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2012/2017)

Universal's attempt to modernize the Snow White fairy tale and turn it into a franchise of films was ambitious. Admittedly, early on it did look like a promising prospect, with Snow White and the Huntsman's production design offering up an interesting fantasy world. The casting of Charlize Theron as the evil queen further solidified that hope, and for the most part she delivered in that role. Embodying the evil queen's obsession for beauty, Theron brought much-needed life and energy to the otherwise lackluster blockbuster. Because of that, even as the film's villain she was easily the biggest star of the film and its most memorable aspect, so much so that she returned from death for the spin-off/sequel The Huntsman: Winter's War.
