5. Spotlight (2015)

Perhaps one of the more important films of the last 20 years, director Tom McCarthy's cinematic telling of the Boston Globe investigation rounds out the top five. Spotlight, which uncovered the massive child molestation cover up by the local Catholic Archdiocese, is the kind of journalistic film that calls to mind the 1976 classic All the President's Men. It's a compelling investigative piece filled with a star-studded cast. Featuring the likes of Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and John Slattery as the journalistic team, their winding investigation is one that takes hold of your attention and never lets go.
