Spaceballs (1987)

Mel Brooks' Spaceballs wasn't nominated for any Oscars as many of the other films in this gallery were. But it manages to make space a place where comedy can be just as common as shooting stars or free-traveling asteroids. With John Candy, Rick Moranis and Mel himself in the lead roles, it's wholly lovable and entirely entertaining.
