Matt Lauer

A well-known and once-respected journalist and host of USA Today, Matt Lauer was fired by NBC in 2017 after a former female staff member of the show accused him of sexual misconduct. NBC Chairman Andy Lack released a statement at the time, which read in part: “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” Lauer would eventually respond to the allegations, apologizing for his actions.
