Tony nominee Nick Cordero was admitted to the hospital on March 30, 2020 after testing positive for COVID-19. Since then, he had to be intubated and placed in a medically induced coma. He also experienced several complications, including septic shock, two mini strokes and blood clotting, which resulted in the amputation of his right leg. Cordero woke up from the coma, but after that, had a spike in his white blood cell count. He passed away July 5, 2020.
