In the 1930s, screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) is working on the script for an upcoming movie that will be known as Citizen Kane while nursing a broken leg. Young Orson Welles (Tom Burke) gives Herman, a.k.a. Mank, a deadline of 90 days to produce a first draft.
