Rachel Dawes – Batman Begins / The Dark Knight

Katie Holmes originally played the role of Rachel Dawes in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins but opted not to return for the sequel. There was no drama surrounding her departure — Holmes just chose to work on the film Mad Money instead. Director Christopher Nolan told Alloy he wasn't happy about the decision, but was grateful Maggie Gyllenhaal took over the role.
