Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle, 52, has revealed that she was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome last year. The singer told the U.K. paper The Observer that she went to see a specialist in Scotland to discuss a diagnosis she received as a child. Susan told The Observer, “It was the wrong diagnosis when I was a kid. I was told I had brain damage. I always knew it was an unfair label. Now I have a clearer understanding of what’s wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself.” Not only does Susan have Asperger Syndrome, but after a series of tests, it was revealed she also has an above average IQ. Asperger’s is a form of autism that affects how one interacts and communicates with others. Susan has also struggled with depression and mood swings but this new diagnosis will not hold her back. “It will not make any difference to my life. It’s just a condition that I have to live with and work through.” ~Brie Davis
