TED RAIMI

Date of Birth: December 14, 1965

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Ted Raimi first got the acting bug when he appeared in older brother Sam's early homemade Super-8 films. Later on, he would appear in several of Sam's feature films. Ted went on to briefly attend Michigan State University before transferring to New York University and finally attending the University of Detroit.

He began acting professionally in industrial films in his hometown, then moved to Los Angeles to break into the Hollywood scene. He bunked in with Sam, who'd already relocated. Ted's first role outside of his brother's movies was in a feature film called Shocker (1989). His first starring role came in Lunatics: A Love Story (1991), directed by longtime family friend Josh Becker. Patriot Games (1992), starring Harrison Ford, was Ted's first major Hollywood film. He reprised his role as a CIA satellite analyst in the sequel, Clear and Present Danger (1994).

Ted may be best known for his TV work, including recurring roles on seaQuest DSV and Xena: Warrior Princess and guest roles on Baywatch, Twin Peaks, Odyssey 5 and American Gothic. More recently, he has been making a splash on the big screen with supporting roles in Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004) with Tobey Maguire, The Grudge with Sarah Michelle Gellar and The Illusion with Kirk Douglas (both 2004).

In summer 2004, he shot the Sci-Fi Channel TV movie The Man with the Screaming Brain with longtime friend, actor Bruce Campbell. Although he doesn't enjoy participating in sports, Ted is a huge Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings fan. He makes his home in the Los Angeles area.
