Awarded a USC Associates Endowment Scholarship for academic achievement, Jeff went on to graduate in 2001 from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television. While there, he made The Tower of Babble (2002), which he conceived, co-wrote, acted in and directed. When the movie was greenlit, he made his feature directorial debut with it. He followed that up with the teen drama Never Back Down (2008) and the superhero action comedy Kick-Ass 2 (2013).

Most recently, he directed the horror film Blumhouse's Truth or Dare (2018).

Jeff has also founded The Adrenaline Film Project, a program to help aspiring filmmakers of all ages conceive and complete a short film in just 72 hours.
