Kenan Thompson biography
Date of Birth: May 10, 1978
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenan Thompson made his film debut as Russ Tyler in D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994). His television debut came the next year, when he was just 17, as a regular on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy series All That. He stayed with the show for four years, but during that time, also debuted in a spin-off show, Kenan & Kel; reprised his character in D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) and played Dexter Reed in the film Good Burger (1997).
Besides hosting the TV series Oh Yeah! Cartoons in 1998, Kenan continued his movie career with roles in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000) and Big Fat Liar (2002), while also playing the recurring role of DeForrest Ingram in several episodes of the hit TV series Felicity.
Following parts in My Boss's Daughter and Love Don't Cost a Thing (both 2003), Kenan was chosen as a featured player on the long-running late night sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. During breaks from the show, he played Kenard in the sequel Barbershop 2: Back in Business starred as the title role in Fat Albert, appeared opposite Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes on a Plane and provided the voice of Greedy Smurf in the animated feature The Smurfs, reprising his role in the sequel The Smurfs 2 (2013).
Kenan's latest credits include an appearance in a 2016 episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the comedy Brother Nature (2016) with Bobby Moynihan, the animated film Rock Dog (2017) with Luke Wilson, and the comedy Going in Style (2017) with Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.
Thompson, who divides his time between Los Angeles and New York City, continues to perform on SNL and has the distinction of being the first regular performer on the show to be born after its 1975 debut.
