Old school cops and bank robbers movie. Kidman is strong as a burnt out alcoholic cop who made bad choices. She looks rough, but in the flashbacks to 17 years earlier, she looks better than any 51 year-old could and should. I found the film riveting...………...84/100..guru bob
Nicole kidman, great actress, but in this movie , not enough meat and potatoes, background of the main character was explained in just bits and pieces throughout the film as opposed to showing viewers , a short recall of events and her career prior to going undercover ... she appears so weak and under nourished at beginning of movie , how could a police captain let this agent be on duty , should have been sent to rehab first, to show us how the character was prior to her undercover role
When I saw the trailer with Nicole Kidman I was excited for it to come out. It was a waste of Kidman's acting talent as the story line was non existent to weak. There were so many times, I said to my friend "that wouldn't happen". It had so many parts that were just wrong in terms of authenticity.
My friend and I almost left but we kept thinking a story worth watching might emerge. It didn't. It still left so many unanswered questions.
Perhaps it might win an award for makeup, as I have never see Nicole Kidman look so unadorned and plain. I had wondered why a movie with such a renowned actress debuted at The Rainbow instead of the two major cinemas. After seeing the movie, I knew why.
It wasn't as good as expected. It was slow, purposeless much of the time. A lot of information left out that might have made Kidman's character more authentic and the movie more interesting.
The pace was even and overall flat. Other than One particular twist, the movie was boring
very slow moving plot at times too vague in which direction it is going.
Hiring a higjhly paid actress doesnt make the picture one bit better. It was a huge dissapointment dont waste your time and money.
