Loved it
Terrible! We don't even get to see Michael in his hockey mask.
I have to say, it was a decent remake. This from a huge John Carpenter fan.
This is definately not a remake of the original film. It is a new take on the Michael Myers story, giving us more of an insight into his twisted past that made him the killer he is toda. Great job as far as I am concerned. I will admit, I was expecting crap, and was plesantly surprised. For thise that say it was not scary, I ask you, what is scary nowadays. Everything has been done. There is nothing left to scare of. Great job - have to see it again....Soon!!!
Loved Rob Zombie's other 2 movies but I have to say was not very impressed with this one. Was not scary at all! I enjoyed the beginning and the scene with micheal watching tv but I expected so much more. Where was the zombie feel and music?
WELL DONE!! much much better than the original
Great remake. Rob Zombie was risky taking this task, but i think he pulled it off pretty good. It was scary and jumpy, the acting was ok. He stuck to the original story and didnt make him to much of a monster, but i think he made the killer more frightening.
The big mistake here is comparing this Halloween to the orginal. Rob Zombie wasn't trying to do a remake of the movie, he was trying to re-invent Michael Myers and give him more humanity which I think he accomplished very well. It wasn't about Michael Myers going after Laurie and killing people, it was about how he became a remorseless killer through all the hardships he went through as a child. Of course, nothing will top the original Halloween. It was a classic, but this movie shouldn't be compared to the original.
AMAZING!!
Better than the first but not quite as good as III.
Michael Myers is back!
5 STARS! Sets a bold new standard for slasher movie excellence; McDowell reinvents Michael Myers and makes the character his own.
The best horror movie since THE SWARM.
Rob Zombie is an idiot. He ripped this classic movie apart to put his own brand on it and produced something which really should go straight to DVD. It was so bad. What happened to the suspense? The story? Don't waste your money, wait for DVD
Superior to the original in every way.
Typical Rob Zombie. The only kind of woman he can think of is a loose one, and the only kind of men he can portray are scummy, greasy abusive ones. If he wants to shock people, he should try making a movie where he chooses to have men with short, CLEAN hair, and women who keep their clothes on. This is the 3rd film he's made with the "trailer-trash" stereotypical people in it. He needs to reinvent himself in the worst kind of way.
The best Halloween i have seen since the first.
I love it, and it is scary. BUt why is it rated 14a. I thought at least 17a or Rated R should be
first part of the movie was amazing, well done! you can tell it has rob zombie written all over it. Second part? hmm , not so sure. it seems like theres an input from somebody else, once you dehuminized michael myers it became a monster and, well we all know what monsters do. it lost the perspective that rob gives you by showing the human side of the killer. and for that i give him 3 stars. in the other hand, i think he did a great job taking most of the cheese out of the original movie. better luck next time.
If I could give this zero stars I would. Rob Zombie is an idiot hack. Why does he have to simplify Michael Myers as a product of white-trash America? What is his fascination with white trash? He revels in it. At my viewing of "Halloween" people got up and left. There was chuckling and openly snide remarks and the supposedly "scary" scenes. Rob Zombie is a B director, only interested in cussing and nudity. He couldn't tell an interesting story if Sheri Moon's next big-time part in one of HIS movies depended on it. Hollywood, please stop giving this man projects. As a long time Halloween fan I was and AM disgusted and can only hope the franchise can re-cover. In closing, Moustapha A
It was the best version of Halloween I have evr seen.
I don't get it right now, everyone is all mean to horror movies, they are good, this was easily the best and most terrifyinig horror movie of the year. You guys just don't get that if you want a horror movie you want blood, it is not like a stab and dead. You need at least some realism to it. And this wasn't even as gory as was i expected, i expected Rob Zombie to create gory torturous deaths, they were almost exactly the same as the original, this was just as good as the original hands down.
absolutely disappointing. what a bad movie
garbage....I am sure tribute won't put this comment up again!
I liked the fact that you see an evolution of he's descent into evil. It lacks a little suspense but other then that it's much better then the poor attemps at slasher movies we've had in the last few years. Bring us more of these instead of The Ring and The Boogeyman and other stupid movies like that.
Not "better then the original..." and not very interesting over all...I liked Rob Zombie's previous movies, but this was just a waste of his time and my time and money.
first half was interesting, but zombie totally butchered the second half (literally and figuratively). I like the idea of knowing the history of michael myers, but nothing can touch the original.
I enjoyed it better than the original. Love how Zombie showed the dysfunctional environment of michael's childhood. It was interesting to see how the relationship between loomis & Michael was formed.......
What a terrible movie. To remake a classic is generally a bad idea, but I mildly enjoyed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Dawn of the Dead remakes. They weren't brilliant but I was amused for an hour and a half. This is not only a poor remake, but possibly one of the worst horror movies ever made. Everything you go to see a horror movie for is lacking here. There's absolutly no sense of tension, it's very slow and boring, and the kill scenes just sort of happen.... boring. There's plenty of violence and nudity, but nothing holding them together to make them the least bit shocking. The first half of the film features the back story of Myers. This process of seeing a mute, great white s
Not anywhere as good as the original.
Better than the original, and it's cool how the new Michael looks like a refugee from the supergroup SlipKnot.
Kinda interesting to see how myers got to where he was in the orignal. Zombie did a good take on it.
